First and Foremost, We Offer an Energy Star Rated Window for Every Market

Energy efficiency is must when it comes to getting new windows.  Beechworth offers an Energy Star rated window for every market.  Your contractor can walk you through which is best for you, or read below to decide for yourself.

TO BEGIN, IDENTIFY YOUR CLIMATE TYPE

Choosing an energy efficient glass package starts with your local climate. Temperature has the biggest influence on which glass package is best for your home.

Colder climates

  • South-facing windows need Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) and a low U-factor to reduce heat loss
  • East and West-facing windows need a low SHGC or be shaded
  • North-facing windows need low U-factor

Warmer climates

  • South, East, and West facing windows need low SHGC, because you don’t want extra heat from the sun
  • North-facing windows don’t get direct sun, making low U-factor most important
